Building on my earlier work on the hybrid culture of Russian Germans, in 2023 I began to engage more deeply with my home, my parents, and our cultural background. Initially, the focus was on the cultural tension of living between two worlds. Over time, the work shifted toward the personal: my origins in Kyrgyzstan, growing up between two cultures, and the Russian rituals practiced in our home.

Using photography and video, I document what remains. During the course of this work, both of my parents passed away. The project follows the transformations of the place during this period of upheaval and, at the same time, turns its gaze toward the farewell to my parents.
